We feel it’s critical to be vocal about one’s support of liberation movements, and explicitly express solidarity with actions seeking to disrupt settler colonial violence.
We have spent the majority of our political lives understanding the importance of supporting the International Cultural & Academic Boycott of, as well as the boycotting of goods and services from, the apartheid state of Israel and companies/ institutions who benefit from occupation and genocide — this means remaining vigilant in the sourcing of ingredients for our ferments and remedies, joining boycotts of plant medicine from companies such as Mountain Rose Herbs, respecting the Palestinian picket line, and otherwise being an active supporter of the Palestinian Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (PACBI) and the BDS movement.
Boycott only works when in conversation with community; it requires a visible, vocal, solidarity — this is one reason we publicly endorse BDS.

Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) is a non-violent movement founded by a coalition of Palestinian-led organisations to uphold “the simple principle that Palestinians are entitled to the same rights as the rest of humanity.”
BOYCOTTS involve withdrawing support from Israel’s apartheid regime, complicit Israeli sporting, cultural and academic institutions, and from all Israeli and international companies engaged in violations of Palestinian human rights.
DIVESTMENT campaigns urge banks, local councils, churches, pension funds and universities to withdraw investments from the State of Israel and all Israeli and international companies that sustain Israeli apartheid.
SANCTIONS campaigns pressure governments to fulfil their legal obligations to end Israeli apartheid, and not aid or assist its maintenance, by banning business with illegal Israeli settlements, ending military trade and free-trade agreements, as well as suspending Israel’s membership in international forums such as UN bodies and FIFA.
Savage Craic stands with BDS in recognising Israel as an occupying and colonising force that discriminates against Palestinian citizens of Israel and denies Palestinian refugees the right to return home.
BDS is a call to action to pressure Israel to comply with international law by meeting three demands:
- Ending its occupation and colonization of all Arab lands and dismantling the Wall.
- Recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality.
- Respecting, protecting and promoting the rights of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes and properties as stipulated in UN Resolution 194.
The BDS Movement focuses their boycotts on a smaller number of companies and products to create maximum impact. To clarify, this means the BDS Movement is calling on the strategic boycott of the following explicitly named companies profiting from the ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people.

Boycotting is simply one arm in an intersection of movements striving for mutual liberation. It’s important to continue to build community and healing networks, disrupt power structures, engage in education, mutual aid, skill share, and other forms of prefigurative politics… to prepare for the truly revolutionary work.
